The complete guide to using the Kamalia app

The Kamalia platform brings your entire city together in one place. This guide will walk you through using it from start to finish.

Creating an account. Open kamalia.pk, enter your mobile number, a code will arrive — enter it, and your account is created. Then choose your area: your city mohalla or your chak number. Choosing your area gets you news and updates from your own locality.

Searching for anything. Type in the search box at the top, or just hold the mic icon and speak — "lady doctor," "electrician," "school van." You don't need to type — speaking is enough. Every page has a call and WhatsApp button — one tap and you're in touch.

Daily essentials. At the top of the home screen are the things you need every day: death announcements, blood donors, load-shedding, mandi rates, prayer times, emergency numbers and adda (bus stand) timings. In load-shedding, choose your feeder once, and your daily schedule will appear automatically after that.

Leaving reviews and earning points. Write a review about a shop or doctor — or record it as a voice note — and you'll earn points. Is a business missing? Add it, and earn more points. These points will later unlock discounts at shops around the city.

News. In the news section you'll find stories from Kamalia's verified journalists. Any story with a "listen" button can be listened to instead of read.
